Do you know that the last recorded d€ath from a snakebite in the UK was 51 years ago? Even Australia, which has some of the most venomous snakes in the world, records only one to two d€aths per year.

Yet in 2026, our hospitals and primary healthcare centres still lack basic antivenom, and we are expected to accept this as normal.

This is why it angers me when citizens praise politicians simply for constructing roads. What is the value of good roads when hospitals have nothing to save lives? Just last month, VDM called out the Ekiti State Government for allocating ₦68 million out of a ₦415.5 billion budget to healthcare. ₦68 million cannot even cover their breakfast, yet it is meant to protect millions of lives.

The first time I saw her was in a video where she was singing the Champions League song—full of life and joy. Today, she is gone, not because her situation was hopeless, but because the system failed her.
