After being away for a while, this weekend was quite eventful 🥰🥰🥰

The environmental impact of constant fall of the National Grid;

Electricity supply is one of the factors which have huge impact on the environment, due to the fact that the relies heavily on a stable and supply in various ways.

🧏‍♂️One could wonder, "what are the impacts electricity on the environment?"

The direct positive impact of electricity on the environment can be compressed to include the following;
•🏷Reduces gas emissions from generator sets etc;
•🏷Reduces air pollution emanating from use of such engines to generate electricity for heating, cooking, and transportation;
•🏷Promotes through powering water treatment and recycling facilities;
•🏷Increases efficiency in through waste collection and processing;

However, despite the fact that strategic transitioning to sources, improving energy efficiency, and implementing sustainable practices can mitigate the negative impacts of electricity generation, the following strategies are advised;

a. Investment in renewable energy technologies;
b. Improve energy efficiency;
c. Implement smart grids;
d. Promote electrification of transportation and industry;
e. Support sustainable land use and resource extraction practices.

Summarily, the constant fall of the Nigerian national grid makes a hoax of the country's international commitments to the protection of the environment and our shared global responsibility on .

Are we serious about tackling Climate Crisis?

Virtually all underground tunnels in most cities are blocked, which has increased the problem of flooding. Oil spillage is still at top gear, incessant oil extractions are on the increase together with high volume of gas flaring. Yet, we pretend we are tackling environmental challenges on camera.

Unfortunately, local communities are reportedly collecting peanuts from oil explorers just to find their daily bread, while government take their own "percentage" from oil firms that intend to flare gases, etc.

It is highly regrettable that the natural and consequential impacts of these excesses have left us constantly cut in the web of one or the other. Worst still, no one reports what is happening in satellite villages and hinterlands except when it is a huge .

The way out of these mess is not just to match actions with words by putting life to our existing laws and regulations which are mostly lying helpless in papers, but also taking awareness campaigns and more personal.

When this is achieved, our acclaimed commitment to would make so much sense as a strategic way to a future.
