Grooming early reader
Nearly everyone has heard young children making sounds and trying to imitate spoke words they hear as babies.
In these earliest experiences with speaking and listening, we recognise or learn that children are born with the ability to perceive and produce sounds that will eventually become words then sentences.
This is the beginning of an emerging childhood of vocabulary, an important foundation for language development and early reading skill.

Phonemic awareness in children is one of the most important tool for reading. It is the first skill for reading because it is a critical pre-reading skill .
What is phonemic awareness it is the ability to hear, identify , and manipulate or decode the sounds of a language ( English in this case).
It is the primary predicator of earl reading and spelling skill in GK classes through Basic 1.
Phonemic awareness has nothing to do with intelligence, but children without this skill will have difficult if not impossible time learning
to sound, blend and read .It has to do mainly with hearing the sounds the letters make.
