APC MOURNS DR. CHAMBERLAIN DUNKWU

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is shocked and deeply saddened by the death of a highly respected Party Chieftain, Dr. Chamberlain Dunkwu at 54.

The late Dr. Dunkwu was an energetic, selfless and loyal Party man who contributed enormously to building and strengthening the Party in his native Ika Federal Constituency, Delta state and beyond.

Until his passing on March 7, 2026, Dr. Dunkwu served as Deputy Chief of Staff (Legislative) to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, GCON. Prior, he was a Special Adviser on Members’ Affairs to the Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.

A Knight of Saint Christopher (KSC) and President of the Nigerian Aquatics Federation (NAqF), Dr. Dunkwu lived a vibrant life of service and philanthropy that touched many within and beyond his homeland. His exit has created a yawning void that will be difficult to fill.

Our Party prays God to grant his immediate family the fortitude to bear this huge loss. And may He comfort all members of the APC family in Ika Federal Constituency, Delta State and around the country at this difficult time.

DELTA APC CONGRATULATES CHIEF SOLOMON ARENYEKA-LED STATE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ON HISTORIC, UNIFIED CONGRESS; CONDEMNS FABRICATED CRISIS NARRATIVE BY SAHARAREPORTERS

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Delta State unequivocally condemns and rejects the misleading, sensational and politically motivated report published by SaharaReporters alleging a “deepening crisis” within our great party. Ordinarily, we would have ignored such armchair journalism, but for the purpose of putting the record straight and for posterity.

For starters, we wish to heartily congratulate our newly elected State Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, and his entire State Executive Committee on their well-deserved emergence through a broad-based consensus process that reflects the collective will of party stakeholders across the State. The just-concluded Ward, Local Government, and State Congresses in Delta State are products of a peacefully, transparently, and successfully conducted exercise, culminating in the emergence of a formidable State Executive Committee under his chairmanship, and nothing could be further from the truth.

Let it be stated clearly and without ambiguity that there was no parallel congress anywhere in Delta State - not in any of the 270 wards, nor the 25 Local Government Areas and certainly not at the State level. For the first time in the political history of congresses in Delta APC, no individual has been paraded or returned as a factional chairman from any so-called parallel congress. That singular feat alone has completely demolished the contrived narrative of division being peddled by mischief-makers.

The unprecedented success recorded is not accidental. It is the manifestation of a deliberate initiative under the courageous and inclusive leadership of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori. Through extensive consultations with critical leaders and stakeholders of our great party, His Excellency adopted the constitutionally backed consensus-driven model that placed unity above personal ambition and collective victory above individual interest, unlike in the past when it was a one-man show where winners took it all.

What Delta APC has achieved is nothing short of a political miracle, as the party has undergone a strategic structural re-engineering of its structures under his watch. The integration of legacy members and new entrants has been handled with political maturity, discipline and foresight. The outcome is a solid, harmonized and battle-ready State Executive Committee capable of driving our party’s expansion and consolidating its dominance ahead of the 2027 general elections.

It is, therefore, intellectually dishonest and journalistically irresponsible for anyone to equate the absence of a few individuals at an event with a crisis. Attendance at political gatherings is not the sign of party unity. The measure of unity is institutional order, the absence of factional structures and the acceptance of outcomes, all of which were clearly demonstrated throughout the various congress stages.

We will not allow sponsored agents of distraction, such as SaharaReporters, to manufacture friction where none exists with its infantile vituperations. We will not permit speculative journalism to undermine the stability painstakingly built within our party. Those desperately searching for cracks in Delta APC will be disappointed because our structures have been reinforced.

Under the watch of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, Delta APC has transitioned into a cohesive and strategically fortified party structure. The new State Executive Committee, ably led by Chief Solomon Arenyeka, represents competence, experience and inclusiveness. It reflects the political reality of a united Delta APC poised for overwhelming victories at all levels come 2027 and beyond.

We make it abundantly clear that Delta APC is not in crisis. It is consolidated, disciplined and strategically repositioned. And as we move toward 2027, our focus remains unwavering, which is to deliver decisive victories for our party at the Presidency, Governorship, National Assembly and State House of Assembly levels, and no amount of idle reportage will distract us from that mission.

We call on party members to remain steadfast and ignore provocations. We urge the media outfits, particularly the likes of Saharareporters to verify facts before amplifying politically motivated conjectures. Delta APC stands united, re-engineered and unstoppable.
