Medical conditions in pregnancy. Anaemia is a major intercurrent disease during pregnancy in the tropics. Patient usually have a haemoglobin lower than the world, health recommend level of 11.5g%.in the tropics any woman with a heamoglobin level of less than 10g% is anaemic. Causes of Anaemia in pregnancy in our environment are iron deficiency, sickle cell diseases, hook worm infestation, malaria, folate deficiency.
