Truth About Leadership of ADP in Plateau State: Party Warns Public Against Recognizing Bitrus Boyi
The Plateau State chapter of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) has warned members of the public, party faithful, and stakeholders against recognizing or conducting official business with Mr. Bitrus Boyi Ngah as the chairman of the party in the state.
The warning was issued during a press conference held on Saturday at the party’s Northern Zone Office in Anguldi, Jos, where party leaders sought to clarify the ongoing leadership dispute within the state chapter.
Addressing journalists, the party maintained that Bitrus Boyi ceased to function as Acting Chairman following resolutions reached during a stakeholders’ congress held on January 23, 2026, at TEEST Hotel, Jos.
According to the party, the congress was attended by zonal chairmen, local government executives, members of the State Working Committee, party elders, and other stakeholders from across Plateau State.
The party explained that several petitions and complaints against Boyi and his deputy, Comrade Peter Falah Takah, were considered during the meeting.
To investigate the allegations, stakeholders constituted a seven-member disciplinary committee headed by Mr. Danjuma Auta.
The committee later submitted its report to the State Working Committee led by Mr. Nansoh Silas Miri, who subsequently forwarded the report and resolutions of the congress to the party’s National Headquarters.
“The party hereby advises the public to exercise caution and refrain from engaging in any official transaction, negotiation, agreement, or political activity purportedly carried out on behalf of the Plateau State chapter of ADP by Mr. Bitrus Boyi Ngah.”
The party said all records, minutes, petitions, reports, and other documents relating to the leadership matter are available for verification by any interested authority or stakeholder.
ADP leaders also questioned the position of the National Leadership, which they said had repeatedly described the January 23 congress as illegal.
“The meeting was convened in the same manner and through the same processes as several previous meetings whose outcomes were never challenged. We therefore continue to ask: what specifically made the January 23 meeting illegal?”
The state chapter argued that concerns over Boyi’s leadership had existed since 2024 and were not issues that emerged suddenly.
The party further alleged that efforts were made after the congress to pressure members of the State Working Committee into abandoning the resolutions reached by stakeholders.
“We resisted those pressures because we believe that leadership in a democratic party must derive its legitimacy from the consent and confidence of members.”
The party also expressed concern over reports of plans to conduct a congress or ratification exercise aimed at installing leaders without broad consultation with party members and stakeholders.
It warned that any attempt to impose leadership structures on members would undermine the democratic principles upon which the party was founded.
The ADP reiterated that Mr. Nansoh Silas Miri emerged as Acting Chairman following the January 23 stakeholders’ meeting and remains the recognized leader of the party in Plateau State according to the resolutions reached at the congress.
“The Plateau State chapter remains united behind the leadership of Mr. Nansoh Silas Miri and committed to preserving peace, stability, and progress within the party pending the conduct of congresses and the emergence of substantive leadership.”
The party emphasized that its decision to address the public was motivated by a commitment to truth, accountability, and internal democracy rather than personal grievances.
“We remain committed to dialogue, reconciliation, and peaceful resolution of all internal disagreements. However, we shall not remain silent when facts are distorted, when members are misled, or when the collective will of party stakeholders is disregarded.”
The statement was signed by Mr. Nansoh Silas Miri, Acting Chairman of the Action Democratic Party in Plateau State, and Yemeh John, Acting Publicity Secretary.

ADC Primaries: Jude Dakur's Campaign Team Urges Supporters to Remain Calm
The campaign team of an aspirant in the governorship primary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Plateau State, Hon. Jude Dakur, has called on his supporters and party faithful to remain calm and orderly following the outcome of the party's primary election.
The call was contained in a statement signed by the Director-General of the campaign organisation, Rengkat Bakpet, and made available to journalists in Jos.
The campaign team acknowledged concerns expressed by supporters following the conduct and outcome of the primary but urged them to refrain from actions capable of undermining the unity of the party.
According to the statement, the campaign had already activated the party's internal dispute resolution mechanism by lodging an appeal against the outcome of the primary election.
The team recalled that the outcome of the governorship primary election was rejected by Hon. Jude Dakur and his supporters, following which a petition was submitted to the party's Appeal Panel for review.
"Having formally lodged our grievances before the appropriate organ of the party, we wish to call on all supporters of the Plateau Faith Project to remain calm, peaceful and law-abiding while awaiting the decision of the Appeal Panel.
"We urge our supporters not to be discouraged or distracted by the outcome of the primary election where results were allocated to an aspirant without elections taken place in some LGAs.
The appeal process has been activated, and we remain confident that the panel will carefully consider the issues raised and deliver its verdict in the interest of justice, fairness and party unity," the statement said.
The campaign team expressed confidence that the appropriate appeal panel of the party would diligently review all issues raised and take a fair decision in line with the party's constitution and guideline
"We have confidence in the leadership of the party and the established mechanisms for addressing grievances arising from the primary election. There is no cause for alarm," the statement added.
The campaign organisation further urged members and supporters to avoid inflammatory comments, speculation and actions capable of creating division within the party.
It reiterated Hon. Jude Dakur's commitment to democratic principles and internal party processes, stressing that the appeal was being pursued through legitimate channels.
The statement also called on ADC faithful across Plateau State to remain united and focused on the broader objective of strengthening the party ahead of future electoral contest.
The campaign team assured supporters that they would be kept informed of developments as the appeal process progresses.

Riyom Stakeholder Dung Danboyi Seeks Urgent Government Intervention for Rainstorm Victims in Plateau State
A prominent stakeholder in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, Hon. Dung Danboyi, has appealed to both the Plateau State Government and the Federal Government to urgently provide relief and humanitarian assistance to victims of a devastating rainstorm that ravaged Tom Gangare (Hawan Kibo) community in Sopp Federal Ward.
The rainstorm, which occurred on May 30, 2026, reportedly left several families homeless and destroyed properties worth millions of naira in the community located along the busy Jos–Akwanga–Abuja Road.
Expressing deep concern over the disaster, Danboyi sympathized with the affected families and residents, describing the incident as tragic and unfortunate.
"I sincerely sympathize with the affected families and the entire community over the unfortunate incident and the loss of properties worth millions of naira. My thoughts and prayers are with all those who have been displaced and affected by this disaster," he stated.
The Riyom stakeholder called on Governor Caleb Mutfwang and Deputy Governor Ngo Josephine Piyo to facilitate immediate intervention through relevant state agencies to alleviate the suffering of the victims.
He also appealed to the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs under the leadership of Hon. Dr. Bernard Muhammad Doro, as well as the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Plateau State Emergency Management Agency, to provide emergency relief materials and support to the affected residents.
Danboyi further urged international development partners, humanitarian organizations, and public-spirited Nigerians to complement government efforts by providing assistance to the victims.
According to him, the provision of temporary shelter, food items, medical support, and other relief materials would help ease the hardship faced by displaced families and enable them to rebuild their lives.
