Then you should know that for every building that doesn't have a building approval, the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority is granting them another 90 days amnesty on the payment of penal fee for AS-BUILT STRUCTURE seeking building approval in the state.

As-Built structures refers to structures that their construction has been completed (roofed) or buildings that has been occupied for a number of years.

Penal fee is a fee charged during the processing of building approval for as-built structures. This fee is paid into government account. This fee is statutorily 4times whatever the assessment fee of your building is.

So, if your building assessment fee is N400,000, your penal fee would be N1,600,000 i.e 4x400,00

This fee is what the government has removed as long as you process and obtain your building approval within this 90 days amnesty.

The amnesty period has been extended from Aug 1 to Oct 31st, 2024.

So there would be no reason for not having your building approval after the 90 days period.
