Uche Nnaji Declares for Enugu Governorship, Promises One-Term Tenure

Hon. Uche Nnaji has formally declared his intention to contest the Enugu State governorship, pledging to serve for only one term if elected.

Nnaji made the declaration on Tuesday while addressing supporters and stakeholders in Enugu, stating that his decision was driven by a desire to “restore competence, accountability, and equity” in the state’s governance.

“I am offering myself to serve Ndi Enugu for just one term. Four years is enough to lay a solid foundation, complete critical projects, and set a new standard for leadership,” Nnaji said.

He noted that a single-term pledge would allow him to focus on governance without the distractions of re-election politics, adding that his administration would prioritize infrastructure, job creation, security, and youth empowerment.

Nnaji, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), called on Enugu residents to support a shift toward “competence over sentiment” in choosing their next governor.

He promised to release a detailed policy blueprint in the coming weeks, outlining his plans for rural development, education, and the perennial water challenges facing the state.

Enugu Enugu State governorship hopeful Hon. Dozie Ogenyi has congratulated Senator David Mark on his election as National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing his emergence as a welcome development for the party and Nigeria’s democracy.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Enugu, Ogenyi said Mark brings to the office “decades of tested leadership, discipline, and a deep understanding of our nation’s challenges” at a time when Nigerians are seeking credible political alternatives.

“Your chairmanship inspires renewed hope that the ADC will stand as a true platform for competence, unity, and people-focused governance,” Ogenyi stated.

The ADC governorship hopeful pledged his full alignment with Mark’s leadership and vision for the party, adding that his supporters and structure in Enugu State remain committed to building a stronger, united ADC that delivers dividends of democracy to the people.

Ogenyi further prayed for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for the new national chairman as he leads the party into what he termed “a new era of growth and electoral success across the federation.”

Sen. David Mark, a former President of the Senate, was elected National Chairman of the ADC at the party’s recent national convention.
