As a medical student, how do you know if you are suitable to be a surgeon?

Qualities you should have or develop to take up surgery as your career in post graduation:

You should be a smart worker, getting a lot of work done effortlessly in between your emergency surgeries ,opds , emergency calls.
You should have speed in everything you do whether it's writing the treatment order , examining the patient, performing procedures minor to major.
Have problem solving capabilities, you can develop these by seeing a lot of cases and that is possible if you join a high volume center.
You should have a strong mind and a heart of a stone because youl be seeing many deaths in your career.
You cannot maintain your health if you are in a govt medical college with high volume load of cases.
Surgeons thrive on chaos and adrenaline
Surgeons undergo the longest and most rigorous training. Residency teaches more than knowledge; it’s about decision-making, leadership and technical skill. surgeons are often stereotyped as abrasive, arrogant, and difficult to work with .

A surgeon will always have a high level of empathy and sympathy towards his patients and i think it is highest compared to other specialities in medicine.
A surgeon may be like a lion inside the operation theatre but can be humble and innocent as a kitten outside the OT.
And lastly surgery is a passion and join only if you are interested..enjoy

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENT BETWEEN A AVERAGE INTELLIGENT PERSON AND A GENIUS INTELLIGENT PERSON?

Here's the difference:

When a person of average intelligence is confronted with a problem, they often wrestle with it for a few minutes, hours, and sometimes even days, before throwing in the metaphorical towel.

When a genius is confronted with a problem, they sit down and ponder on it. When they can't find an immediate solution, they rest it on the shelf of their mind. Days pass as they focus their attention on a second task and/or problems that they wish to solve as well. After having waited several days or months, the genius is taking a shower, brushing their teeth, or taking a walk, and the solution pops into their head like toast out of a toaster.

The difference between a person of regular intelligence and a genius is that the genius says, "I will find a solution to this problem."

The person of average intelligence says, "There is no solution, I give up."

He who wants to find a solution to a problem will eventually receive it in the palm of his hand.

He who believes the solution to a problem is too hard or impossible to obtain, will rest his head against a brick wall of his own creation.
