Ondo Civil Service Elevated to International Standards
September 20, 2024
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has affirmed that his administration has successfully repositioned the state's civil service to align with international standards.
Speaking at the 9th Annual Conference of the Ondo State Chapter of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) in Akure on Friday, Governor Aiyedatiwa, represented by his Deputy, Olayide Adelami, emphasized the administration's commitment to worker development and improved service delivery across the state.
“From the outset, we have implemented bold reforms to enhance the efficiency of the civil service, which has significantly boosted productivity. This is reflected in a remarkable 300% increase in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), from an annual average of N10 billion in 2017 to N40 billion," the governor stated.
Aiyedatiwa also highlighted the administration’s focus on technology, noting that over 4,000 state workers have been trained in the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance their skills and improve services.
He commended CIPM for its key role in driving human resource management towards optimal performance. “Your commitment to efficiency and excellence is evident in the theme of this conference, 'Unlocking the Potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Workplace.' I encourage you to continue pushing the boundaries of knowledge,” Aiyedatiwa added.
In his remarks, CIPM President, Ahmed Gobir, represented by National Treasurer Ogochukwu Egbuonu, praised the strong collaboration between the state government and its civil servants, noting that AI would play a crucial role in enhancing service delivery.
Ondo State Head of Service, Bayo Philip, also lauded CIPM’s contribution to the state’s public service, reported John Paul Akinduro
Spokesperson to Ondo State Deputy Governor.
