ABOUT ME:

Lady Celine Nkiru Okoro is a researcher, publisher, author, communications expert, and seasoned international development journalist.

She has to her credit the following research publications: "Twenty Years of implementation of Beijing Platform for Action (BPFA) 2010–2015,
"Blueprint for Sustainable Empowerment of women, Youths and Persons with Disabilities in Nigeria from 1999 to 2015", and contributed to
"Who are those making key decisions for us", A research publication of National Center for Women Development (NCWD) on women's political participation in Nigeria-1999 to 2015" as the South East Zonal Co-Ordinator.

She currently publishes Africawomannig as an internet-based newspaper for and about women in governance in Africa. Africawomannig is available online at www.africawomannig.com.

Celine Okoro's career journey has spanned several decades, first with the Guardian Newspapers Ltd, Rutam House, Lagos, later with Turning Point Newspapers Ltd, publishers of the Comet, now The Nation Newspapers, and Africawoman- A British Council funded media project in eight African Countries as Nigeria's Country Co-ordinator.

In this period she juggled being a young wife, a dotting mother to her four children, and a dependable journalist that pioneered the reporting of the activities of non governmental organizations in the vibrant but competitive Nigeria's media industry, a fete that has been sustained to date.

She has organized, facilitated and attended several international and local capacities building and empowerment programs aimed at increasing women's political participation and women in governance in Nigeria.

They include but not limited to working with the 2019 UNICEFs G4G / SDG Campaign team in commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child in eight northern states of the Kebbi, Kano, Sokoto, Kaduna, Niger, Gombe, Bauchi, Adamawa and Yobe states with the lowest girls child school enrolment, high child marriage and out of school girls in Nigeria.

Celine is a certified counsellor and communications Team Lead for Nigerian Women Mediators Collaborative Initiative (NWMCI).She is a gender advocate and provides voice to the voiceless. She has zero tolerance to all forms of violence against women and girls.
The need to share her life experiences in her career journey has propelled her to create this page for the millennia's, youths, and young adults currently at crossroads with juggling parenting and career development.
