Yesterday 13th June, FEDAN and NACTAL FCT stood side-by-side at the Kabusa Community, FCT, to sensitize residents on the critical issues surrounding Child Abuse and Child Labour.

Marking the International Day Against Child Labour, our joint team took to the streets and community hubs to educate families on why they must break the cycle of child exploitation. We believe that securing a child's education today is the only way to secure a better tomorrow.

Thank you to the leaders and people of Kabusa for partnering with us to build a safer environment for our children.

Today, as the world observes the International Day Against Child Labour, I reflect not only as a mother but also as a concerned Nigerian.

Every child deserves a safe environment, access to quality education, and the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Unfortunately, many children in Nigeria continue to face hardship and uncertainty instead of the hope and opportunities they deserve.

As female drivers, we stand in solidarity with millions around the world in advocating for the protection of every child's rights, safety, and well-being.

The 2026 theme for the International Day Against Child Labour is: "Red Card to Child Labour: Fair Play for Children, Decent Work for Adults." This theme reminds us of our collective responsibility to eliminate child labour and create a future where every child is safe, in school, and empowered to achieve their full potential.

On this International Day Against Child Labour, let us renew our commitment to safeguarding children and promoting their right to a brighter future.

*WORLD MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY OUTREACH*

Today, 11th June 2026, Girls' Power Initiative (GPI), Abuja, with support from AWDF under the Bene Madunagu Legacy Project, reached 71 girls at JSS Lungu, Abuja, with menstrual health education and sanitary pads.

This brings the total number of girls reached to 149 across four schools: JSS Gwarinpa Estate, Truevine Montessori School, JSS Kubwa III, and JSS Lungu.

The girls were educated on menstruation, menstrual cycles, ovulation, proper use and disposal of sanitary pads, and menstrual hygiene management.

As part of its support for the project, the Female Drivers Association of Nigeria (FEDAN), led by its President, Amb.. Eunice Odeghe, delivered an impactful session on menstrual hygiene before, during, and after menstruation, encouraging the girls to embrace healthy hygiene practices and self-confidence.

The outreach featured interactive discussions, a question-and-answer session, and myth-busting conversations that kept the girls actively engaged.
We appreciate AWDF, GPI, FEDAN, the participating schools, teachers, and volunteers for making this impactful outreach a success.

Together, we are empowering girls with knowledge, dignity, and confidence.
