🌟 BREAKING: Teachers in Abuja Just Got Empowered to Change Lives.
Over 30 dedicated special needs and inclusive education teachers from five FCT schools came together at Junior Secondary School Pasali, Kuje, for a transformative 2-Day Training of Trainers Workshop (25–26 March 2026) proudly supported by UNESCO
The mission? Equipping educators with the knowledge and confidence to deliver National Family Life and HIV Education (NFLHE) Curriculum in a truly inclusive way — with a strong focus on sensitive Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) topics for young people with disabilities.
Through dynamic role-plays, simulations, case studies, and hands-on facilitation techniques, participants gained practical tools to:
✨ Create safe, inclusive, and accessible classrooms
✨ Break stigma and foster open conversations
✨ Empower students with disabilities to understand their rights, health, and wellbeing
👥 Distinguished guests in attendance included:
National Programme Coordinator, UNESCO
Deputy Director, Special Needs Division, FCT Secondary Education Board
Representative of the Director, Vulnerable Groups Department, National Human Rights Commission
Expertly facilitated by Dr. Kolawole Jayeoba (Programme Manager-AWWDI), the workshop delivered an engaging, impactful, and action-oriented experience for all participants.
This is more than a training, it’s a movement.
A bold step toward an inclusive education system where every child, regardless of ability, is seen, heard, and supported.
At Inclusive Skills Development Initiative (ISDI), we remain committed to ensuring that every young person with a disability has access to accurate information, dignity, and opportunity.
Thank you very much, UNESCO for championing inclusion and making this impactful initiative possible.
