Children are Born Righteous Doctrine is Blasphemy!

Those who teach that children are born righteous imply that there is another way of pleasing God apart from faith; this is blasphemous!

1. Faith is central to the worship of Yahweh. All the ancient worshippers of Yahweh gained approval only by faith (Heb 11:2).

2. Without faith no man can please God or be righteous in his sight (Heb 11:6). In other words, the only scriptural means of righteousness or divine approval is faith (Rom 3: 28; Gal 2: 16; 3: 11). The just can only live by faith. Those who do not have faith (including children) die in their sins.

"...for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins" Jn 8: 24

3. If we say that children are born righteous, it implies that natural birth is a second means of righteousness and divine approval. It also means that one can become righteous before hearing the gospel. Such assertions contradict Scripture because natural birth is a work of the law and children do not have faith. Faith only comes by hearing; children must grow up to a certain age before they can hear the gospel and believe God (Rom 10: 17).

4. Even Abel, a direct descendant of Adam was only declared righteous by faith, not by birth (Heb 11: 4)! So, he was not righteous until he believed God's message because no one can be justified without believing and no one can believe without first hearing the Gospel (Eph 1: 13).

"...how shall they believe in whom they have not heard..." Rom 10: 14

5. No body in Scripture was ever said to be righteous by birth or by any other means except faith! If righteousness is only by faith, then righteousness cannot be by birth at the same time.
In conclusion, no one can be righteous by the works of the law including natural birth. Whoever was declared righteous in any generation was a believer!
Children are not believers and so are not righteous!
