Have you ever done this

My dad refused to pay ₦15,000 for my WAEC lesson fees.

He said:
"If you're serious, you'll pass without it."

I was angry for months.

Then WAEC results came out.
Everybody in my class attended the lesson. Some even paid extra for "expo".

I was the only one depending on old textbooks and free past questions.

I felt finished.

The day the exam started, panic caught me.

Questions looked familiar but not exactly what I expected.

I remember sitting there thinking:
"My father has ruined my future."

Results day came.
Nobody slept the night before.People were already discussing resits.

Then I checked mine.

C6 English.
B2 Mathematics.
4 distinctions.

I checked again because I thought it was a mistake.

When I got home, my dad didn't celebrate.

He didn't even smile.

He just said: "So now you know you don't always need what everybody else has."

Years later, I realized the lesson wasn't about WAEC.

It was about confidence.

Sometimes people sell you things you already have inside you.
