KATSINA NSCDC COLLABORATES WITH NIGERIA ARMY, NCoS, EFCC AND INSTITUTE FOR PEACE AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION IN KATSINA

The Katsina Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the 17 Brigade Nigeria Army Katsina have strengthened partnership to combat security chellenges in the State.This was emphasized during a courtesy visit by the Commander 17 Brigade Nigeria Army Katsina, Brigadier General MI Ibrahim to the State Commandant NSCDC Katsina Command, Commandant of Corps AD Moriki, Acti, Anim today Friday 6th March, 2026 at the Command Headquarters Katsina, Katsina State.

In his remarks, the Brigade Commander noted on the existing cordial working relationship between the NSCDC and the Nigeria Army.He reiterated that the Brigade will strengthen the existing synergy and collaboration to ensure Safety and Security in the State.

In his response, Commandant Moriki welcome the new Brigade Commander in his office and by extension to Katsina State.He commended the Nigeria Army for their roles in combating terrorism and other criminality.The State Commandant further assured for more synergy, cooperation and collaboration to address the security chellenges in the State.

In another development, the State Commandant received the Director General, Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution Dr. Joseph Ochogwu, mpi, fspsp, the State Controller, Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) CC Abdulrashid Sule and Ag. Zonal Director, Economic & Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Katsina Zonal Directorate, Mr. Chinedu Ozugha on a familiarization visit in his office.

In their separate remarks, the various leaders expressed much appreciation for the warm reception accorded to them during the visit.They also emphasized on strengthening the existing synergy and collaboration between NSCDC their respective organizations.

Highlights of the visit were inspections of quarter guard, presentation of souvenirs and group photographs.

KATSINA NSCDC BURSTS ARMS FABRICATING FACTORY IN KORE, BATAGARAWA LGA ARRESTS FOUR (4) SUSPECTS

Dear members of the press

We extend a very warm welcome to the Katsina Command of NSCDC.

Today we are delighted to share some of the recent achievements made by the Command under the able leadership of the amiable and hard working State Commandant, Commandant of Corps Abbas Dan-ile Moriki, Acti, Anim.The Commandant is always committed to promoting safety, security and protecting Critical National Assets and Infrastructure in the State and Nigeria as a whole.

On Thursday 26th February, 2026 at about 1000 hours acting on credible intelligence, the Special Rapid Response Squard of the Command successfully uncovered and dismantled a suspected illegal arms fabricating factory in Kore Village situated along Batsari Road, Batagarawa Local Government Area of Katsina State.Upon receiving such credible information, the State Commandant directed the Squard for immediate response while ensuring professionalism.The team acted immediately, uncovered and dismantled the factory, seized weapons , fabricating equipment and apprehended four (4) suspects.

The suspects Haruna Lawal 'M' 28 years, Badamasi Kabiru 'M' 50 years, Hamza Lawal 'M' 30 years and Sagir Abba 'M' 25 years were apprehended inside the factory perpetuating the crime.

The following exhibits were recovered from the suspects
1) Eight (8) locally made skeletal rifle
2) Five locally made (5) pistol grips
3) Four (4) locally made magazines
4) One (1) butt of local rifle
5) Five (5) local butts of local rifle
6) Twenty (20) pieces of locally made magazine parts
7) Twenty one (21) pieces of metal
8) One (1) carbide and one (1) hurk saw
9) Three (3) hammers
10) One (1) spanner
11) One (1) player
12 ) One (1) hand saw
13) One (1) grinder
14) Two (2) gas cylinders
15) One (1) welding machine
16) Twenty four (24) notes
17) Two (2) motorcycles (Jincheng and boxer)

The suspects are currently being investigated to uncover other syndicate members, suspected buyers and due diligence will be followed in thier prosecution.The Commandant assures for adequate Security as the Command will not relent in it's commitments to combat illicit arms proliferation, uncover all the activities of vandals, economic saboteurs and other criminals in the State.

Commandant Moriki thanks the general public for the continuous cooperation and urges for more support to the security agencies by providing actionable and timely intelligence that will help uncover the activities of miscreant in the State.

HANDING OVER OF RECOVERED ITNs TO THE STATE MINISTRY OF HEALTH

The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Katsina State Command, Commandant of Corps *AD Moriki, Acti, Anim* handed over a total of 35 bails of Insecticide Treated Mosquitor Nets(ITNs) to the Commissioner Ministry of Health, Honourable Musa Adamu Funtua today Friday 28th November 2025 at the Command Headquarters Katsina, Katsina State.

This remarkable achievement was attained after the surveillance team of NSCDC Katsina Command foiled the diversion of the nets and thorough investigation was concluded about the incidence.Handing over the 35 bags each containing 50 pieces of Insecticide Treated Mosquitor Nets (ITNs) the State Commandant represented by command 2i/c DC Musa Haruna thanked the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Health for all the cooperation and understanding during the investigation.

In his response, while taking over the recovered net, the Honourable Commissioner represented by the Director Malaria and Sickle cell Dr. Buhari Ismaila commended the NSCDC Katsina Command for commitment to safety and Security in the State and assured for strengthening the existing cordial relationship.
