ON GOING SENSITIZATION EXERCISE BY AMAC ZONAL OFFICE

The AMAC Zone A Zonal office team were on market sensitization to Goza Monday market today for market sensitization also today 18/05/26.

The AMAC zonal offices under the FHIS is made up of city centre and communities around Lugbe, Mabushi, Gwarinpa, Jiwa and environs, the AMAC Zone B office covers Karu, Karshi, Asokoro and Environs.

The Zone B AMAC office today were at Nyanya Motor Park and Karu and Jikwoyi/ Karshi motor parks.

The segmentation is done to reach the nook and crannies of the FCT.

FREE ENROLLMENT FOR INMATES OF CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES IN THE FCT

The .sec_fct_hses and the have concluded arrangements to enroll over 3000 inmates of the Correctional Facilities in Kuje, Gwagwalada and Suleja facilities.

The inmates will be enrolled free of charge into the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund (BHCPF) of the FHIS where they will enjoy quality and affordable healthcare free of charge including drug dispensation.

The programme which will be officially flagged off tomorrow 19th May, 2026 will include free medical outreach for the inmates and corrections personnel of Kuje custodial centre, will alsoinclude Hypertension tests, diabetes tests, Malaria checks as well as eye checks and etc.

Provision has also been made for drug prescriptions as well as referrals to secondary facilities for issues beyond the primary health level of care.

The mandate secretary Health and Environment secretary said the aim is to ensure no one is left behind in terms of universal health coverage which guarantees quality and affordable healthcare for all, irrespective of class or social standing.

She commended the FCT Minister Minister Barrister Nyesom Wike and minister of state, for granting approval for the programme.

AREA COUNCIL SENSITIZATION

Our Zonal office in Kuje Area Council today stormed the Kuje main market for its ongoing sensitization for FCT Health Insurance Scheme FHIS enrollment.

The Zonal Coordinator in Kuje, Mrs Rashidat Obisesan Rashidat Obisesan said the sensitization is part of ongoing regular sensitization taking place in Kuje community.

She said the team had already visited the motor parks and other unions of the informal sector to create awareness on FHIS.

The Ag.Director FHIS Dr. Salamatu Belgore said the sensitization is taking place simultaneously in all the 6 area councils of the FCT.
