A NEED TO WEEP FOR OUR NATION.

There is an urgent need for us as a nation to address this daylight disgrace. The future of a nation lies in the strength and productive capacity of her youths.

There is no gainsaying that our educational system is faulty and there is an onus on all and sundry to take drastic measures to curb this menace. Else, we might experience a continued decline in the quality of educational delivery.

We however must salute the relatively few institutions that works day and night to achieve results. Many of us had set standards which we will always strive to achieve even when we need to sacrifice without counting the cost.

Here we are with students and youths with 3.8m followers on TikTok, 9,999 friends on Facebook and other social media platform without an iota of sense upstairs. Right from JSS 1, many are given to yahoo and many of our girls graduate into hookups from JSS 3. Then the question is, "where are we going as a nation?"

There is a need to return sanity to our schools, maintain discipline and embrace diligence. Enough of collecting money from students to promote to the next class. The negligence of our actions and inactions will only become evident for the whole world to see. We've encouraged the use of phones to the extent that students play games, chat with clients and even seek for updates while lectures are on.

Many of our students know lyrics of songs that are not even out but can't factorise. They know the latest gists but have little or no knowledge about the latest topic in class. How do we forge ahead with all of these Bobrisky kinds of lifestyle.

Let us not also forget that many of these students had As and Bs but can't defend such with 200 marks in UTME. Then, it leaves us with the question of how they got it.

The race for the 2025 UTME should start NOW for many of these students because they should be aware by now that they will not even secure an admission to study FOOLISHNESS with 100 as a mark in UTME. Enough is enough.

Parents, teachers and the government must take conscious efforts to join forces together to arrest this nonsense before it escalates.
