So we made some progress on our last wash day o.
For the first time since I had my daughter, she didn't cry at all as I prepped and washed her hair.
Omo, e be like dream. I had to pinch myself plenty times. From start to finish this pikin no cry. Ehn eeehn? E shock me fa.
I'd even ask 'are you okay?' and she'd answer 'I'm okay'. Pheeew, this is such a big deal. It feels like I've cracked the code on handling her washday.
So what did I do different? I made more effort in getting her involved in the entire process.
While detangling, I said 'pull your hair', I was doing it, so she followed suit. When it was time to apply water, I had her apply some; 'put water'
Time to shampoo, I put some in her hands and I said 'rub it on your hair', mama was doing it and shining teeth. The thing sweet me ehn 🤣😂
After applying shampoo, we rinsed off with water. At this point, she was very relaxed and didn't resist so I just handled the rest.
Pheeew, it was such a relief. Having her involved in the process changed the game. Plus, I use warm water for her wash day. I observed that she's calmer when the water is warm.
I'm saying congratulations to myself. Congratulations to us. I'm hoping and praying that just as I've been able to hack washdays, I'll get the hack for making her hair too.
Above all, I hope that this method keeps working because she fit change am for me next time even after doing all the every every 😂🤣
I remain positive sha. Laslas, this pikin dey teach me patience and I must learn it by force.
Good morning, how una dey?
Your hair is not long because it's always dry.
You prefer to moisturize your wigs instead.
