PUBLIC SECURITY STATEMENT

My dear brothers and sisters of Abbi,

With a heavy heart, I address our great community following the tragic and heartbreaking events of June 28, a day that will remain one of the darkest moments in the history of our land.

The senseless violence that claimed several lives and left many others seriously injured has brought untold grief to families and has shattered the peace for which Abbi has long been known. No responsible society should celebrate or tolerate the spilling of the blood of its own people. Every life lost is a painful reminder that violence solves nothing but leaves behind widows, orphans, broken homes, and a wounded community.

On behalf of the Abbi Vigilante Security Outfit (Elovie Community Abbi), I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and pray for the speedy recovery of those receiving medical attention.

Let this serve as a strong warning to every individual or group involved in these criminal acts: Abbi belongs to all of us, and no one has the right to terrorize our people or turn our peaceful homeland into a battlefield. Those who choose violence must immediately lay down their weapons and embrace peace. Criminality, cult-related violence, and every form of lawlessness will no longer be tolerated. We shall continue to work with all lawful security agencies and within the limits of the law to identify those responsible and ensure that justice takes its course.

It is also important to remind our people that security is a collective responsibility. Recently, the Vigilante Security Outfit appealed for support to acquire essential security equipment through a public fundraising initiative. Unfortunately, the response fell far below what the situation demanded. Today, the growing security challenges before us remind us that safeguarding our community requires the commitment of everyone.

Therefore, I call on the traditional institution, community leadership, youth leaders, women groups, religious leaders, political stakeholders, business leaders, and every son and daughter of Abbi to unite in organizing an urgent Abbi Security Summit. This summit should provide practical solutions to the insecurity confronting our community and produce a clear roadmap for lasting peace.

The immediate strengthening and proper equipping of the Abbi Vigilante Security Outfit must become a priority. A vigilant, well-equipped, and community-supported local security structure will greatly enhance the protection of lives and property while complementing the efforts of other security agencies.

Let us remember that we are one people. Our differences should never become reasons to destroy ourselves. The future of Abbi depends on our unity, our courage, and our collective determination to reject violence in all its forms.

May God comfort every grieving family, heal our wounded, protect our community, and restore lasting peace to our beloved Abbi.
