If you don't have 50M once to spare for a particular house project and you really want to build as soon as you can, please DO this

1. Get started buying material little bit ahead of time you would love to start. things like
•Granite/chipping
•Cement
•Sand
•Steel rod
•Blocks or you lay it yourself
Etc

2. Get yourself an architectural design of your dream house, keep it in particular spot in your space that you would wake every morning to see, comes back to see. This is a huge motivation to you.

3. Make sure you have land already, Dig borehole if there's no water around.

DON'T DO THIS.

1. Don't go ask engineer to give BEME (estimate of the plan).
Yes this will discourage you because by hearing 50M,70M and above while your accounts are ± 5M, you'll feel that the journey is so far to you start now..

2. Stop spending unnecessarily, reduce your outing/clubbing and turn down some unwarranted invitations from friends on their parties.

3. Stop assuming it'll get better soon and you would start it, NO, Nigeria is never getting better Bro/Sis. A bag of cement was 9000 or less January and currently 10000+.

4. Do not think of using your capital to start up, just with the little income or saved up money, you can start if properly guilded. Tell your engineer what you have at the moment to spare so he can assist you on the most important thing to buy immediately 👍👍.
