Surveying a 20 km highway or rail corridor used to take weeks.

Today, much of that spatial data can be captured in a single pass.

The challenge? Traditional corridor surveys often involve:

❗️ Section-by-section measurements

❗️ Several site visits to complete coverage

❗️ Field teams working close to live traffic or operational infrastructure

Mobile LiDAR mapping changes this workflow.

Mounted on vehicles, UAVs, or backpack systems, LiDAR mappers collect dense 3D data while moving through the environment.

Instead of isolated measurements, the system records:

✔️Continuous corridor geometry

✔️ Road surfaces and markings

✔️ Signage and roadside infrastructure

✔️ Vegetation and nearby structures

This creates a complete spatial dataset of the corridor and its surroundings, captured in a fraction of the time.

💰 For engineers and asset managers, that difference is significant.

It means infrastructure can be mapped faster, analysed sooner, and updated more frequently — an essential capability as transport networks continue to expand.
