Lunar New Year is one of the most important annual holidays celebrated by the Chinese. It is also known as “Chun Jie” (春节) or the Spring Festival. The holiday not only marks the end of the coldest days, but also the beginning of spring; a start to new beginnings.

The family reunion dinner and ancestor worship are the two of the most important highlights of the celebrations on the Eve of the Lunar New Year (除夕).

The reunion dinner (年夜饭) is an annual feast where family members reaffirm the love and respect that binds them together as a unit. It is also known as “Tuan Yuan” or “Wei Lu” (团圆/围炉) meaning “gathering around the family hearth”. This event is of sociological significance as it is a means to ensure the solidarity of the family and its cohesiveness.

There are more than 2.1 million foreigners working in Malaysia. They are far away from their homes, so that they can help build ours. They are our unsung heroes.

Tonight we are celebrating the New Year of 2023 with our LNT's Waterproofing Team at Bumbu Bali, Puchong. A simple dinner in a family setting, while listening to their sharing of homeland stories and childhood memories.

We are proud to have Danial, Jack Lai, Siang, Khairul, Manik, Samad, Manik Mula, Faruk Hossain and Zahanger with us tonight, and a few more of their hometown friends to be joining us this month.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank for all their hard work, commitment, and invaluable contributions to the company, which are integral to our progress and success.
