Are you confused about the SOPs during Phase 2 in Penang, Malaysia on the 7th of July 2021?

Are there any major changes you should take note of?

Phase 2 will have more sectors that are allowed to operate as follows:

Manufacturing Sector (80% work force capacity)
✅Automotive (vehicles and components)
✅Ceramics
✅Cement
✅Rubber
✅Iron and Steel
✅Furniture factories for export purposes

Trade and Distribution Sector (8AM-8PM)
✅Bookstores and Stationery shops
✅Computers and Telecommunications
✅Electrical Goods
✅Barber Shops (for basic haircut services only)
✅Car wash shops

Additionally, inter-state and inter-district travels remain prohibited except for teachers and students of examination classes. For long-distance couples, inter-state travel will only be allowed for emergencies and special cases with the approval letter from . Only 2 person(s) from the same household are to travel within 10km for necessities.

Under Phase 2, the dine-in ban remains in place. All eateries, hawkers, food trucks, food courts, roadside food stalls, or kiosks are only to cater to takeaways, deliveries, or drive-through only from 6 AM-10 PM.

Morning markets and farmers’ markets are to operate from 7 AM – 11 AM. However, the markets are limited to 6 commodities only. They include vegetables, fruits, groceries, processed chicken, seafood, and meat.

As for sports, individual sports with no physical contact will be allowed with at least 2-3 meters of social distancing in place. Moreover, all non-contact sports are to be carried out outdoor within a 10km radius from the point of residence.
