The vanilla beans sourced directly from farmers in Uganda's Kampala region are notably fresh, retaining their moisture to ensure optimal quality. These beans are distinctively supple, showcasing a dark brown to black hue, and are slightly heavier compared to Madagascar beans. Ugandan vanilla beans are characterized by their smooth, oily surface and a moisture content ranging from 28% to 35%. Upon slicing a pod, the abundance of seeds and thick, sticky consistency become apparent, releasing deep woody scents with hints of leather, dried fruit, and berries.
