Deep in the rainforest, our team sets up 10 camera traps per plot - areas defined by the property’s land radius, stretching from the Staff Quarters towards the resort. Cameras are placed about 250 meters apart. Each trap is left for about six weeks to quietly capture the lives of our animal neighbours.

These motion-activated cameras record both ground and canopy activity, revealing everything from Greater Mouse-Deer (napuh in Malay) and civets, to squirrels, wild boars, and even migratory birds taking a break from their flight on the forest floor. By studying these images, we can understand species presence, population, and behaviour without disturbing their natural rhythms.

Discover what our camera traps quietly captured beneath the canopy.
