I wholeheartedly agree with Idris Jala and Leon Jala that creating a successful education system lies in the development of structured pedagogy.

This means learning from and replicating the best practices of exemplary schools, educators and teaching methodologies. Notable examples include Datin Chan of Sri KDU, who has set benchmarks in private education, and Cikgu Jaul Bunyau of SK Ulu Lubai, Limbang, Sarawak, whose efforts transformed his rural school into a national treasure.

In June 2024, Cikgu Jaul was recognised by the Sarawak government as Tokoh Guru Sarawak 2024 for his incredible achievement in turning SK Ulu Lubai into the renowned “Permata Belantara”. This transformation is a testament to the power of structured teaching methods and the impact they can have on students and communities.

To replicate such success, the government should consider providing teacher allowances for a two-week camp during school holidays dedicated to developing structured syllabi and standardised modules for the upcoming term.

This initiative would ensure consistent and high-quality education across all schools nationwide. By doing so, we could achieve a significant and measurable improvement in student outcomes, laying the foundation for a brighter and more equitable future.

This concept mirrors what we practice in the world of 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴, where success is driven by the principle of replication and standardisation.
