UNDERSTANDING HOME DEFECT INSPECTION FOR NEW HOME OWNERS

In Malaysia, all new property owners are given a defect liability period of 24 months under the Housing Development Act. This is like a warranty period where any defects in the property will be rectified by the developer without any additional cost.

It is recommended to engage a home defect inspection company to provide you with this service. However, you may also opt to conduct your own home defect inspection. It is best to conduct the home defect inspection first before begining renovation, installation work or moving into your new home.
