Right now, the Securities Commission (SC) of Malaysia has started to enforce regulations more strictly for everyone operating in the financial and investment space. Many IBs and finfluencers are getting anxious because this directly affects the way we do marketing.

The SC’s intention is valid — to stop scammers. Scam channels have been spreading like wildfire, with strange offers popping up everywhere. What’s even more frustrating is seeing so-called “influencers” selling coaching packages for tens of thousands, when the content is just basic knowledge you could easily find on Google. 😑

So, when the SC tightens these rules, it doesn’t mean we have to stop completely. In marketing, everyone knows there are four phases:

▪️Awareness

▪️Consideration

▪️Conversion

▪️Loyalty

The main issue lies in the conversion stage on social media, which is now heavily restricted.

❌ Posts like “100% rebate on deposit now”
❌ Ads pushing “Deposit today”
❌ Direct trading signals like “Buy gold now / Sell EURUSD now”

Basically, any content that directly drives people to deposit is a red flag.

✅ What is still allowed:

▪️Sharing educational content

▪️Teaching about risk management

▪️Market updates, news, and analysis (with a clear Risk Disclosure)

If you want to close deals, do it in private groups, not on a public feed.

The truth is, this has always been the case. Forex remains a “grey zone.” It’s not a fully legal market in Malaysia like regulated bank products, but many people treat it as if it is. Now, the SC is simply reminding everyone: if you don’t know how to respect the boundaries, one day they will come after you.

That’s why I always emphasize that Risk Disclosure is mandatory. People need to know that trading is not a get-rich-quick scheme, and it’s not about magic signals. A simple example:

“ This analysis is for educational purposes only and should not be taken as an invitation to deposit or trade. Every trading decision carries risk, and proper risk management must be applied. ”

At the very least, when you share charts, setups, or ideas, people will understand that it’s educational — not a direct push for conversion.

At the end of the day, educate first, then convert in private spaces. If everyone keeps pushing conversion publicly, sooner or later, you will get caught.

🔥 Lesson: Trading is not a game. A Risk Disclosure is not just a formality — it protects both yourself and your audience.
