🌏 From a geographical aspect, the Pattani/Pekaka Kris can be found in the Pattani district in Southern Thailand. The hilt is usually made from wood, ivory, or silver.

The Pattani/Pekaka Kris has various names from the Malay community of Pattani, descendants of the ancient Langkasuka Kingdom.

The Pattani people started making kris during the Pattani Malay Sultanate era, focusing on larger, durable kris to defend against invaders, especially the Siamese army. 🗡️
