🤝📍 Technical Committee Meeting & Transfer of Technology (TOT) Session 2026

Geoventure Solution Sdn. Bhd., in collaboration with Jabatan Mineral Dan Geosains Selangor / Wilayah Persekutuan, successfully conducted the Mesyuarat Jawatankuasa Teknikal Bil. 2/2026 and Transfer of Technology (TOT) Session for the Geological Subsurface Modelling Consultancy Services in the Greater Kuala Lumpur area, Selangor.

The session served as an important platform for technical discussions, knowledge sharing, and strengthening collaboration among all parties involved towards the successful implementation of the project.

Thank you to everyone who contributed and participated in making this session productive and meaningful. ✨

Last week, a geophysical field investigation using the MASW (Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves) method was carried out along a road at Kelantan to help assess the subsurface soil condition and underlying layers beneath the damaged road section.🔨

Although cracks and settlement can be clearly seen on the surface, the actual condition beneath the road requires further investigation to better understand the root cause of the damage. The MASW method allows subsurface analysis to be conducted efficiently and with minimal disturbance, without the need for extensive excavation works.🚧

Through geophysical technology, subsurface data can assist engineers and related authorities in making more accurate assessments for repair planning while improving long-term road safety for the public. 🛣️🌍

At Geoventure Solution, we provide geophysical investigation services for various applications including road damage assessment, slope investigation, cavity detection, site characterization, and subsurface studies using methods such as MASW, seismic, resistivity, and more.

We welcome collaborations and inquiries for geophysical and subsurface investigation services.

Not all ground movement is created equal. 🌍

When we hear "landslide," we often picture a single type of disaster. But in geotechnical engineering and geology, slope failures are classified by how the material actually moves. Understanding these specific mechanics is the first step in effective risk management, infrastructure design, and disaster mitigation.

Check out the infographic below for a breakdown of the 5 most common types of slope failure:

- Rockfall: Abrupt, vertical free-fall or bouncing of rock.
- Topple: Forward rotation and tilting of a mass around a pivot point.
- Rotational Slide (Slump): Sliding along a curved, spoon-shaped surface (often leaving a distinct scarp).
- Translational Slide: Rapid movement along a flat plane of weakness (like a fault line).
- Debris Flow: A highly destructive, fluid-like slurry of saturated material.

Whether you're in urban planning, civil engineering, or emergency response, knowing exactly what you're dealing with dictates how you respond.
