One of the biggest mistakes golfers make is setting up to the ball the exact same way with every club in the bag. The truth is, different clubs require different setup angles to maximize performance.

• Lie angle = 56°

• Ball positioned forward, with more spine tilt away from the target.

• Hands are farther from the body due to the longer shaft.

• This setup promotes an upward strike on the ball, helping you launch drives higher with less spin and more distance.

✅ 7-Iron Setup:

• Club length = 37”

• Lie angle = 62.5°

• Ball positioned more in the center of your stance.

• Hands are closer to the body with less spine tilt.

• This promotes a downward strike, compressing the ball for accuracy and control.

If you use your driver like an iron, you’ll hit down too steep and lose distance. If you use your iron like a driver, you’ll catch the ball thin or top it.
