𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐬𝐮 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐮𝐩 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 - 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
It was Sri Lanka`s second time that a rider was nominated for the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup. The first being in 2017, Jaden Gunawardena contested and was selected as a reserve rider for the 2018 season. The second was proudly taken up by Chenuka Caldera as he represented Sri Lanka at the Selection round for the 2026 Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup at Sepang from 21st - 22nd of October. This year, for the selection, they had 83 riders from 18 nations.

Chenuka participated in the knockouts and improved, but unfortunately, he could not make it to the final, which was selected, as 11 riders and 7 reserve riders were chosen from 83 riders. Team Sri Lanka would like to congratulate all the chosen riders, all the very best for their 2026 season and may your paths be clear and steady! Chenuka experienced this at just 14 years, and it is definitely a great learning experience for him to be prepared, and we believe we will see him in the next selection to give his best and try to secure a slot for Sri Lanka.
