As we count down to the new year, we would like to convey our sincere gratitude to everyone who made 2025 such an amazing and eventful year for Backdoor Bodega.

Thank you to each and every guest who traveled near and far to have a drink at our establishment, every journalist and media that wrote about and featured us in publications and awards, every bartender and industry peer who collaborated with us in Penang and hosted us abroad, every single brand and supplier who consistently supported us throughout the years, and of course every individual, past and present, in the team who contributed selflessly to the day-to-day magic of Backdoor Bodega.

2025 would not have been what it is without each and every one of you.

Unofficially dubbed the Penang Cocktail Bar New Year — Penang Cocktail Week returned for a third year running from the 1st to 7th of September 2025, and Backdoor Bodega exploded with flavours, passion, and shenanigans courtesy of the amazing guest bartenders that shook up cocktail after cocktail behind our bar throughout .

Much love to all our friends and family who travelled far and wide to celebrate with us, especially our friends at The Public House (), Native (), (.bkk), Thaipioka (.bkk), Book Ing (), and Wing Lei Bar (). Thank you for all the wonderful drinks and for partying with us throughout the week!

Why have Monday blues when you can have Monday booze with two of Malaysia's sexiest bar boys as we throw a farewell party to Malfy's beautiful outgoing Brand Ambassador for Malaysia, James Ng (.ncs), with a guest appearance by Malaysia's number one bartending hypeman, Jordan Lim () of Up & Away (.my).
