Fish Well Eats

I almost always get tea-flavoured cake but this time I decided to try something else. I landed on pistachio since it’s one of the signature cakes by Forty-Four.

I didn’t want it to be too ‘pistachio-ey’, so I opted to cut down the nuttiness with chocolate and strawberries.

/pistachio feuilletine (crunchy crepe bits + crushed pistachio)
/white chocolate wall

I love the rich & pure pistachio flavour together with the dense and crunchy texture. The chocolate cream was just nice to balance out the pistachio, giving the cake a fun twist.

But if I were to order again, I’d opt out the white chocolate wall and replace the fresh strawberries with strawberry compote instead.

This is probably one of the most hidden restaurant in SP, located inside a kopitiam right behind Xiaoer Laksa! I only came across their place on Facebook after they’ve opened for one year 🤣

It’s a cozy little Japanese Cafe/Bakery serving simple Japanese family-style dishes, some cakes and bread. So don’t come here expecting your typical Japanese restaurant items like sashimi or sushi 🍣

🍚 Unadon - Love the generous piece of unagi enough to pair with every bite of rice!

🥔 Curry Croquettes - Curry flavoured croquettes is not something you’ll find often in restaurants as it’s usually made with leftover curry in Japanese households. The potato inside is fluffy, thick and flavourful, while the crust stays thin and crunchy. Highly recommended!

🍤 Ebi Fry - Not a must try but a great thing to have if you’re there for afternoon snack. The crunch was still crunchy even after being cooled.

🍓 Strawberry Fruit Tea - Strawberry jam + black tea combo, sweet but refreshing

Went there again with my friend and tried curry udon, and bunny jelly dessert. I think they were just ok, can try other things
