We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our client, one of Australia’s leading beef producers based in Queensland (QLD), Australia. This role is based in a food processing facility and plays a critical part in supporting efficient and safe plant operations.

This is a hands-on role suited to candidates with strong mechanical and maintenance experience. Applicants with additional basic knowledge in boiler maintenance, electrical systems, welding, and industrial refrigeration are highly desirable. Experience in FMCG, food processing, or manufacturing environments will be an added advantage.

You will execute planned maintenance, drive reliability improvements, and apply strong fault-finding skills to prevent issues before they impact production.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.
2. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
3. Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and capital projects.
4. Work with automation systems, packaging equipment, and modern control technologies.
5. Conduct machinery inspections, adjustments, and repairs
Identify root causes of equipment and process failures and implement corrective actions.
6. Ensure smooth production through systematic work practices and strong problem-solving skills.
7. Complete preventive maintenance tasks efficiently and to a high standard.
8. Ensure clear communication and handover between maintenance and production teams.
9. Support safe and efficient operations, including occasional weekend or after-hours work.
10. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
11. Comply with Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S) regulations and practices.

Skills & Experience

1. Minimum 2–3 years of experience in FMCG, food processing, or manufacturing industry.
2. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
3. Solid experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems (fault finding).
4. Experience in pump overhauling and packaging machine troubleshooting.
5. Ability to perform basic fabrication and welding (advantageous).
6. Hands-on, proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and in a team.

General Requirements

1. Strong commitment to food hygiene and safety standards.
2. High level of self-motivation and reliability.
3. Minimum IELTS Band 5.0 or equivalent English proficiency.
4. Physically fit, energetic, and able to perform hands-on tasks.

We are currently seeking a qualified Metal Fabricator / Welder to join our client in Victoria, Australia. This role is responsible for carrying out a wide range of welding and fabrication tasks to maintain, repair, and strengthen farm infrastructure, machinery, and structural components.

The successful candidate must possess strong expertise in welding, metal fabrication, and construction works, ensuring that all operational and maintenance activities are performed safely, accurately, and efficiently across multiple farm locations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform MIG, TIG, and stainless-steel welding to fabricate and maintain farm equipment, structures, and support systems.
2. Construct and install metal frameworks, gates, feeders, and holding pens using appropriate welding techniques.
3. Strengthen and reinforce existing farm infrastructure by fabricating metal supports and repairing worn components.
4. Assist in shed construction and farm facility upgrades, including concrete foundation work for structural installations.
5. Ensure precise interpretation of technical drawings and blueprints to fabricate metal parts accurately.
6. Conduct preventative maintenance through welding and metalwork, reducing wear and tear on farm machinery and structures.
7. Work independently and as part of a team to complete fabrication and general farm maintenance tasks as required.
8. Maintain a safe working environment, following all safety protocols and ensuring proper use of PPE.

Skills & Experience

1. Relevant qualification in Welding, Fabrication, or a related field.
2. Minimum 5 years post-apprenticeship experience in welding, metal fabrication, and structural work.
3. Strong expertise in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, particularly for mild steel and stainless steel in farm applications.
4. Ability to fabricate custom steel components, pipework, and support frames from technical drawings.
5. Familiarity with bolted and welded structural assemblies for farm equipment and facilities.
6. Basic concrete work for foundations and equipment installation.
7. Experience in shed and structure assembly using fabricated metal components.
8. Knowledge of reinforcing metal and steelwork to improve farm infrastructure durability.
9. Ability to work in an outdoor and workshop-based farm setting with exposure to dust, noise, and livestock environments.
10. Commitment to workplace safety, compliance with OHS standards, and proper handling of welding tools and equipment.

General Requirements

1. Strong commitment to animal welfare, health, and nutrition.
2. High level of self-motivation.
3. Minimum IELTS Band 5.0 or equivalent English test score.
