We love October 1st because it is International Coffee Day! This is a global celebration of coffee, flat whites, espresso drinks and other wonderful coffee drinks from around the world. We understand and appreciate how important it is to spend time to raise a cup and enjoy a coffee.
Worldwide we consume over 150 million bags of coffee a year. When we say bags, we mean the large burlap sacks of green coffee beans that you see stacked to the ceiling in a coffee roasters warehouse. This translates into almost 10 million tons of roasted coffee beans a year. Did you ever wonder who drinks the most coffee in the world? Well, you will be surprised to learn who is the top coffee consumer.
While the earliest evidence of coffee drinking appeared in Yemen in the middle of the 15th century, which country today, is most fond of the much loved coffee bean?
According to coffee consumption per capita – it's the Finns! Yes, Finland comes out on top when it comes to drinking coffee. They grind their way through an impressive twelve kilos of coffee per person, per year, according to statistics from the International Coffee Organization (ICO). Finland's neighbors are just as thirsty for coffee. Norway, Iceland, Denmark and Sweden also make the top 10 coffee drinkers on the list.

Coffee! The savior of tired moments, the drink that attracts us with its fragrance and taste! Coffee has been in our lives for 1200- 1300 years, but it feels as if it was one of the oldest drinks in human history. So much so that coffee is grown in around 70 countries.
