I see a Financially Inclusive Africa: Where poverty will be news, and the gap between the rich and the poor will be narrowed.
Think of it, 71% of Malawians are Poor, & 70% of the nations population are Youths. Who's contributing to this economic woe? Everyone! However, the youths have a larger stake to this economic pie.
Development must touch those in the grassroots: African youths must be carried along in our ambitions for National Development, and socio-economic prosperity.
Who has to shoulders this burden? Everyone! Each and everyone must see themselves as a change agent, and become a warrior of this noble ambition.
As for me, I chose to be different, and two days ago, I was speaking on Investments at The Generation Family, a Christian based a organization which I co-founded when I was a student at KUHeS.
I firmly believe that we cannot have an entrepreneurial nation if the seeds are not sown whilstwe are young. Entrepreneurship and Investment is a culture, and every culture can be taught!
"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6)
Knowing this, I charged these youngsters to start Investing, leveraging on Malawi Stock Exchange - MSE, Money Market facilities offered by companies like the Stockbrokers Malawi Ltd and National Bank of Malawi Bank of Malawi, and Mutual funds by companies like NICO Group Malawi.
I also charged them to see themselves as the right candidates to fight for, and bring about economic development in this country.
I sigh in hope, and I see a better Malawi and Africa at large!
