We are thrilled to officially announce Shina Hussain Shiyam as the Champion of our inaugural IWD Women’s Day Lichess Online Tournament 2026.

​Shina is an exceptional young talent who continues to demonstrate remarkable skill, dedication, and sportsmanship on the checkered board. As she actively participates in highly competitive tournaments, she is truly making her mark and inspiring the next generation of female chess players.

​We extend our sincere gratitude to Ms. Nihaya Ahmed, Niha Ahmed the esteemed 9 time Women’s National Chess Champion of the Maldives, for graciously handing over the championship trophy to our winner. Having a legendary figure of Maldivian chess present this award adds immense honor to the milestone.
