Tax update:
President has ratified 6th amendment to the Goods and Services Act on 22/11/2022.
Pursuant to the amendment, GST should be charged at new rates from 1st January 2023 onwards.

New GST rates are as follows:
General sector (GGST): 8%
Tourism Sector: 16%

Please be informed that GST must be charged at these rates if the “time of supply” of a transaction occurs on or after 1st January 2023.
