At the Girls in ICT session held at MGSS, Varsha Deelah, Senior Technology Consultant – Cybersecurity at SIL, shared an empowering message with young girls: the future of technology is theirs to shape.

Through her presentation, she highlighted how ICT is transforming industries such as healthcare, education, and public services, while also exploring emerging trends including Artificial Intelligence, cloud computing, and the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

She shed light on the diverse career paths available in ICT, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, and the development of both technical and soft skills to succeed in this dynamic field.

At the heart of her message was inclusion and empowerment, reminding students that: "There is no single path in ICT, but there is space for everyone."

Encouraging the next generation to dream big and embrace innovation, she concluded with a powerful reminder: "Every girl has the potential to build an inspiring career in ICT. Start small, keep learning, and believe in yourself. Your ideas matter, your creativity matters, and with determination, your future in technology can be greater than you ever imagined."

🎓 SIL is proud to announce that our Managing Director, Dr. Parmesh Pallanee, has been formally conferred the Professional Doctorate (PD) in Global Leadership and Management from the European International University – Paris.

Alongside his research pursuits, he has built an impressive academic career, sharing his extensive exposure in different industry sectors.

Driven by a strong belief in the transformative power of technology, Dr. Pallanee is particularly committed to exploring how digital innovation can foster inclusiveness and improve the quality of life for individuals facing everyday challenges. SIL is proud to support the second edition of the Learn AI School Innovation Challenge 2026, bringing together talented Grade 10 and Grade 12 students from state and private secondary schools across Mauritius and Rodrigues.

At the award ceremony, SIL had the privilege of presenting prizes to the 2nd Runner-Up winners in both categories, as well as the winners of the Jury Special Awards.

The competition highlighted the creativity, talent, and problem-solving capabilities of our young innovators, who harnessed the power of AI to address real challenges facing our communities. Their projects explored important themes such as environmental sustainability, energy optimisation, public service efficiency, agriculture, food security, and other priorities shaping the future of Mauritius.
