NOTICE OF VACANCY

The Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates who wish to be considered for appointment in the Post of Driver/Office Auxiliary on a permanent and pensionable basis.

Skills Interface focusing on the Care Homes subsector

The Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) organised a Skills Interface on 20 February 2026, which brought together key stakeholders from the care homes subsector. The objective was to address current and emerging workforce challenges in Mauritius. The workshop focused on practical, actionable training solutions aligned with sector realities.

WORKSHOP STRUCTURE
Session 1: Industry Perspective
Employers and industry operators outlined current workforce challenges, recruitment constraints, and priority skill requirements within the care homes subsector.

Session 2: Training Provision
Public and private training providers presented existing qualifications and programmes relevant to the sector.

Session 3: Interactive Dialogue
A joint discussion between employers, operators and training providers to:
• Identify critical skills gaps;
• Propose practical measures to address these gaps;
• Recommend actions to strengthen collaboration between industry and training institutions; and
• Define short- and medium-term training priorities that may be supported under HRDC schemes.

The HRDC is inviting eligible candidates to register for training in Healthcare Support Work (TQUK Level 3 Diploma) under the National Skills Development Programme (NSDP).

Participants will follow training and placement at: Life Nova Plus Ltd, Khan Medcare Ltd, ProCare Health Services Ltd.

Training Provider: MITQ

Duration: 11 months (full Time)

Eligibility: Minimum Grade 11 (5 subject passed)

The cost of training and Stipend up to Rs 8,000 per month will be funded by the HRDC.
