Professional Development Program Scaffolding Inspection & Supervision

Any serious injury during the use of scaffolds can have very grave legal and financial repercussions on the employer.
Before it is even envisaged to use a scaffolding structure, the employer must ensure that the scaffold is erected by competent erectors, the work is supervised by a Scaffold Supervisor and when the scaffolding is completed, it is inspected by a Scaffolding Inspector.
COURSE CONTENTS
Day 1: Monday 18 May 2026, 08.30 – 15.30 hrs
Overview of Legal requirements [ OSHA 2005, Work at Height Regs 2013 & Scaffoling Regulations 2013, Risk Assessments, Accident statistics, Fines and Compensations, Accident Investigation Reports, Procedures, etc]
Day 2:Tuesday 19 May 2026, 08.30 – 15.30 hrs
Types of Scaffolds, Design considerations, er****on, choice of components, accessories and safety equipment, Stability,
anchoring, testing, Checklist, Maintenance, Repairs, Dismantling, Storage, etc
Day 3: Wednesday 20 May 2026, 08.30 – 15.30 hrs
Supervision, Inspection, Practical Assignment, Use of Checklists, Procedures, documentation, Sample sheets
Day 4: Friday 22 May 2026, 08.30 – 15.30 hrs
Theoretical assessment, Persuasive Report Writing, Report presentation

TARGET PARTICIPANTS: Engineers, Site Managers, Supervisors, and all those who are responsible for inspecting & supervising scaffolds and completing reports in accordance with statutory regulations.

Two things have to be noted carefully:
(i) For any case of Occupational Injury or Occupational Illness, it is ultimately the Court of Justice who needs to be satisfied that the Risk Assessment was “Sufficient and Suitable” or not as required by the legislation
(ii) An Inadequate Risk Assessment is nearly as bad as No Risk Assessment.
