Dear followers,

Attached are the results of the IOM Summer Cup 2026, which brought our sailing season to a close.

At this time of year, finding suitable sailing venues becomes increasingly difficult as our bays fill up with moored boats. Certain wind directions become particularly challenging to accommodate, and the Mistral wind certainly tested us with its constant shifts and unpredictable conditions throughout the day.

Nevertheless, we successfully completed 12 races, providing plenty of competitive and exciting sailing. Alan Desira emerged as the overall winner, recording 4 race victories and 5 second-place finishes. Joseph Schembri also claimed 4 race wins and finished a very close second overall, while Ivan Zammit secured third place. Well done to all three sailors for their outstanding performances.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Rosette for her continued support, and to Marisa, Russell, and Joanne for their assistance during various race days throughout the season. A special mention also goes to Alan for managing the IOM dinghy throughout the season, Marlon for his help in carrying and handling the DF65 dinghy, and Daniel for kindly providing storage for the IOM dinghy during the summer months.

Most importantly, thank you to every member who contributed their time, effort, and enthusiasm to help make our events possible. Whether through race management, logistics, support, or simply taking part, your involvement is greatly appreciated.

With the season now concluded, we wish everyone a safe and enjoyable summer. We hope it brings plenty of opportunities for relaxation, adventure, and quality time with family and friends.

MMBA will be organising the IOM Summer Cup on Saturday 30th May 2026 in Mistra Bay

🕐 First race scheduled for 1:00 PM

⏰ Skippers are kindly advised to be on site at least 1 hour before to allow time for preparation and registration.
