So very sorry to learn of the untimely loss of Sharon Ellul Bonici. She was a formidable adversary on the path to EU membership before 2004: a fearless and fearsome communicator on the TV arena, where we debated the pros and cons of EU membership. Despite our disagreement on our future in Europe, we always shared a deep mutual respect, which endured over the years. So long dear Sharon, and sincere condolences to your family.

Francis Zammit Dimech was a true SERVANT OF THE PEOPLE, who dedicated his entire life to public duty in the sole interest of the people. He was politics as it should be: ever present, ever smiling and ever loyal. Few can claim to have served as long as him, even fewer know politics without him. And he clearly enjoyed every minute. Francis, you are smiling down at us, alongside another great Francis we lost today, the Pope no less. No doubt you will serve with him in heaven. Farewell, dear friend.

IT IS FINALLY HAPPENING. The PanamaPapers gang exposed by Daphne Caruana Galizia 9 years ago, in February 2016, are finally about to start facing justice.

Corruption charges are being brought against Joseph Muscat's Chief of Staff and his top minister as well as the man awaiting trial for allegedly masterminding the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia. And it's all about that monument to corruption, the Electrogas power station.

If the Police did ther duty, we would have got here much sooner. Because they did nothing, it took a number of us, as individual citizens, to ask the court to investigate. They made us sweat blood in court and obstructed justice for 8 long years. But we got there. The box files were not empty after all.
