It was pleasure for the PMO to join the Davy Hill Community this evening for a public engagement session on the new Sports Court Project, funded by Montserrat's Volcano Relief Fund.

The session was attended by Deputy Premier, the Hon. Dr Sammy Joseph, Hon. Minister Crenston Buffonge, and Madam Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Miss Charliena White, as well as Chair of the Davy Hill Community Action Group, Mrs Anne Thomas, and the Davy Hill community.

Mr Martin Parlett, Head of PMO, and Maudell Weekes, Project Lead, facilitated the session, and shared the project's scope, design, and timelines, whilst responding to questions from the community.

The Project will create a durable, truly multi-functional sports court, using an advanced modular technology system, known as PowerGame+™. This surface has unmatched safety and playability features, specially engineered to optimize shock absorption, reduce risk of impact injury and to provide the best combination of abrasion protection and dry traction. It is also well-suited to Montserrat's climate having been deployed across the Caribbean, with UV protection, temperature reduction, and weather resistance features. With a fifteen year warranty it is the perfect low-maintenance solution for this project.

Watch this space for more updates on the project as it moves into implementation phase.

🏘️ 🛠️ Social Housing Projects Continue to Have Big Impact 🛠️🏘️

A range of social housing improvement projects, funded by the Capital Investment Programme for Resilient Economic Growth (CIPREG), and delivered by the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Housing & the Environment, continue to deliver tangible improvements for residents.

The PMO is pleased to share some of the transformational before and after photos of the most recent implementation in Lookout, including window replacement, removal of galvanized sheet roofing and replacement with shingle roof, external improvements and painting.

As a result, the home has improved structural integrity and lifespan, and now offers a more secure and enjoyable space for its residents.

This is part of an overall portfolio of $1.3m investment to improve up to 29 social houses in Montserrat, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, via the CIPREG Programme. The works are being implemented by the Montserrat Land Development Authority, and overseen by the Ministry of Agriculture.

Stay tuned for more updates.
