InfraCo Asia and developer team Infra Capital Myanmar (ICM) brought together the Minister of Electricity and Energy U Win Khaing and British Ambassador to Myanmar Daniel Chugg last week, to present updates on Myanmar’s first wind power projects.

The leaders met in the ministry office in Nay Pyi Taw to discuss progress on InfraCo Asia’s pioneering wind power projects in the Magway region and the UK Government’s support, through its Department for International Development (DFID), for the development of Myanmar’s renewables sector. InfraCo Asia’s Myanmar programme is funded by the UK Government, through DFID, and is executed by its contracted developer team ICM.

ICM and InfraCo Asia brought a Myanmar delegation to the Salkhit wind farm in Mongolia. The wind power project was developed by Newcom Group who pioneered wind energy in Mongolia. The study tour with the Myanmar delegation allowed to better understand the wind power generation and its benefits. What an insightful and fruitful mission! Thank you TAF and DFID for sponsoring this trip.
