Con-Nabay’s Album Review (We Buy Diabetic Test Strips by Armand Hammer)

Armand Hammer ရဲ့ We Buy Test Strips album က 2023 မှာထွက်လာပါတယ်။ ဒီ rap duo ကအမြဲတမ်းလိုရှုပ်‌ေထွးတဲ့ပုံစံကနေ ဂီတတွေဖန်တီးနေရာကနေ ဒီ album မှာကြတော့ ပိုပြီးတောင်ရှုပ်ထွေးတဲ့အရှုပ်အထွေးတစ်ခုကိုဖန်တီးထားတဲ့ကြားကနေ သူတို့ရဲ့ identity ကိုပိုပြီးတောင်ဖော်ပြလာနိုင်ပါတယ်။ Album တစ်ခုလုံးမှာ ambient တွေ drum တွေရဲ့ အနိမ့်အမြင့်ကို ပုံမှန်နဲ့ကွဲထွက်တဲ့ အထာတစ်ခုအနေနဲ့နားထောင်ရမှာပါ။

ကျွန်တော်ပြောတာကိုပိုနားလည်ဖို့အတွက် ဒီ duo ရဲ့ WBDTS အရှေ့က Haram ကိုတချက်နည်းနည်းပြန်စမြုံပြန်လိုက်ပါမယ်။ Haram ကို The Alchemist က production နဲ့ကိုင်ထားတာနဲ့အတူ Album တစ်ခုလုံးမှာ The Alchemist ရဲ့ပုံစံတွေကိုတွေ့ရမယ်။ စာသားပိုင်းတွေမှာလဲ ပိုပြီးတိုက်ရိုက်အနေနဲ့သွားတာကိုတွေ့ရမယ်။ Haram ရဲ့ setting ကလဲ သီချင်းစာသားတွေနဲ့အချိုးညီတယ်။ Sample တွေကလဲတခြား Rap album နဲ့အများကြီးမကွဲထွက်ဘူး။ ဒါပေမယ့် WBDTS နားထောင်ပြီးတဲ့အခါမှာ Haram ရဲ့သဘောထားနဲ့ Duo ရဲ့နောက်လာမယ့် project အထာကိုပိုပြီး အမြင်ပိုကျယ်လာတယ်။

အပေါ်ကပြောခဲ့သလိုပဲ WBDTS က သူ့ရဲ့ကိုယ်သွေးကိုထင်းထင်းပြတဲ့အရှုပ်အထုတ်ပါ။ စာ‌သားတွေကလဲတိုက်ရိုက်သွားတယ် ဒါပေမယ့် interprete ရတာတော်တော်မလွယ်ပါဘူး။ သီချင်းတိုင်းက သူတို့ရဲ့ production နဲ့ သူတို့ရဲ့အမြင်တွေမတူတာများတာကြောင့် Album တစ်ခုလုံးကိုဘာကဘာဆိုတာပြောရတာခက်ပါတယ်။ Woke Up And Ask Siri How I'm Gonna Die ကို JPEG က production လုပ်ထားတယ်။ Armad duo ရဲ့ "I'm just a image, a fe**sh, I fantasize
I be a fool for me first. Keep it close, it be cheaper" စာသား flow နဲ့ JPEG ရဲ့ vibe နဲ့ ambient နဲ့က တော်တော်ပုံမှန်တော့ဟုတ်တဲ့အရာမဟုတ်ဘူး။ ဒါကပဲသူတို့ရဲ့ focal point ဖြစ်နေပြီးတော့ တော်တော်လေး production ပိုင်းကောင်းတဲ့ track ပါ။ ကျန်တဲ့ album ရဲ့အပိုင်းတွေမှာလဲအကုန် production ကလက်ဖြားခါစရာတွေပါပဲ။ When It Doesn't Start With A Kiss မှာလဲအဲ့ပုံမှန်နဲ့ကွဲထွက်နေတဲ့ beat အကြွတွေနဲ့ drum‌တွေ ကိုတွေ့ရမှာပါ။

The Gods Must Be Crazy ကတော့ WBDTS ရဲ့ အပြောင်မြောက်ဆုံးအပုဒ်ပါ။ စာသား Production Beat drop အကုန်လုံးကအဆင့်တစ်ခုကိုသူတို့ဟာတစ်ခုသတ်မှတ်တယ်လို့တောင်ပြောရပါမယ်။ သူတို့တွေကနားထောင်သူကိုပြင်ဆင်‌ခွင့်မပေးပဲ အရှုပ်အထွေးအလုံးလိုက်ဝင်လာပါလိမ့်မယ်။ Distortion တွေကိုလဲတော်တော်ပိုင်နိုင်ပြီး သီချင်းရဲ့ Element တိုင်းက သူတို့ role မှာအကောင်းဆုံးအခြေအနေပါ။ သူတို့လုပ်ချင်တာကို ဘာကိုပြချင်လဲ ဘယ်လိုပြချင်လဲ ဆိုတာကိုဖော်ပြနိုင်ပြီး အကုန်အသေးစိတ်ထားတဲ့အနေအထားပါ။ Production အနေနဲ့ရော လုပ်ချင်တာကိုဘယ်လိုအပြည့်စုံဆုံးပုံဖော်နိုင်မလဲဆိုတဲ့မေးခွန်းတွေအတွက် Inspiration ယူချင်စရာကောင်းတဲ့ Album တစ်ခုပါ။ သီချင်းတွေရဲ့ ambient drum production ပိုင်းတွေက နားထောင်ဘူးသမျှ Armad Hammerရဲ့ တဖြည်းဖြည်းပြောင်းလာတဲ့ experimental project ‌ထဲမှာအကောင်းဆုံးပါပဲ။
