Promoting literacy. Reading Dr. Seuss books and doing activities connected to his characters and stories. Enhancing sight word recognition, using rhyme to create a song. Building reading habit for children. Boosting comprehension by summarizing books and practicing talking by recording narration of the books.
The lesson is divided in stations so all the students have a chance to do an activity. The students are divided in groups and rotate on a station every 5 min.

1. Sharing facts about Dr.Seuss life
2. Practising (reading, pronunciation and comprehension) Choose a book and read it to a friend. Or pick up headphones, choose a recorder and record your reading on the computer.
3. Make an acrostic poem with the letters "The Cat In The Hat"
4. Find the words in the puzzle, then reorder them alphabetically on a sheet of paper
5. Roll the dice and play a rhyming game
6. Colour the quote or scene from the books
7. Playing game: "Pin the hat on the cat"
