β Mistake #5: Using Incorrect Tenses
π Lesson: Tenses can change the meaning of a sentence. β³ For example:
βI have seen the movieβ (present perfect π¬) vs. βI saw the movieβ (past simple π₯).
Present perfect is used for actions that have relevance to the present.
Past simple is used for actions that happened at a specific time in the past.
π‘ Tip: Pay attention to time expressions like "since" and "for" to decide which tense to use. β°
Example:
βI have lived here for five years π‘.β
βI lived here last year π
.β
